Comic Relief

On Friday there were lots of different things happening to help raise money for Comic Relief.

Some of us came to school dressed up. We were really excited seeing what everyone had dressed up as! Cat in the Hat, Mr Birthday, Mary Poppins, a police man and lots of other characters joined us in class for the day!

We went on a balloon hunt that the P6's had organised for us. We had to search the corridors for eight balloons with different letters on them.

In class we all made our own Red Nose headbands.

Tree planting at Muddisdale

On Thursday afternoon we went to Muddisdale to do some tree planting. We went with P1F and some very helpful P7's. We had to listen carefully to know how to plant the trees. Then we got into small groups to begin the planting.

It was hard work using the big shovel to dig a hole for the tree.

We were all really pleased with the trees we planted. Now when we go to Muddisdale we can look and see how well our trees are growing.

Carnival Time

We have been learning about the Carnvals that happen in Trinidad at this time of year. We decided join in the fun and celebrate too!

First of all we made brightly coloured masks, shakers and crowns.

On carnival day we got to try some limbo dancing, played our shakers and even had a game of cricket.

The Water Cycle

This week class 1 have been learning about the water cycle. We have done lots of different experiments to help us understand what happens.

World Book Day

Today was World Book Day. We all took our favourite books to school. During check-in we showed the class our books and explained to everyone why they are our favourite.

We all really enjoyed reading each others books. Miss Corse read some of the books to us too.

We all wrote a book review to encourage our friends to read the books we really like.

We also made bookmarks to keep in our books.

We even used books during our maths time! We had to work as a team to sort lots of books according to their size, from the smallest to the largest.

Stick Pictures

We made our own pictures using the twigs and sticks we collected on our walk round the Peedie Sea. Can you guess what they are?

Splish Splash Splosh

We've started our new topic, Splish Splash Splosh. We have been thinking about where we find water and what we use it for.

Today we went outside to do an experiment to find out what materials are waterproof and the ones that are not. We had a great time pouring water on the different materials to find out.
